Geico and The Martin Agency took advantage of the catchy tune no one will forget by putting their own twist on it.
Shockingly, Tag Team stated that this was the first commercial they were invited to star in since they released the hit song almost 29 years ago.
The remix highlighted in the commercial, Scoop There It Is, became a viral hit instantly, garnering over 13 million views on YouTube.
It also had great success on TikTok becoming a trending sound used in the background of various videos.
The commercial is very funny, showing the parents dancing along with Tag Team, embarrassing their daughter in the process.
I loved that they brought in the duo to perform the remix in the TV spot as well. It makes the commercial more humorous while also highlighting those who created the original song.
After the commercial’s success, Geico also partnered with a New York-based creamery, Mikey Likes It, to create its own limited-edition ice cream flavor which was genius.
