Anheuser-Busch’s “Let’s Grab a Beer”

Played during the 2021 Super Bowl, Anheuser-Busch and Weiden+Kennedy were able to create a beer commercial that stood out from the others.


With most beer commercials revolving around partying, tailgating, or attending a sporting event, “Let’s Grab a Beer” showed that drinking is not always glamorous in real life.

The commercial shows realistic scenarios like a rainy wedding and a coworker packing up their desk. After the events, they feel better while having conversations grabbing a beer.


What makes the ad stand out to me is that it doesn’t glamorize life or the act of drinking. Instead of the scenarios being a wild night out, these are casual and intimate.

Many people, including myself at times, compare their lives to what they see on television. For those who saw this commercial, it doesn’t pressure you to go party but to have genuine conversations.


This commercial does not promote heavy drinking or partying, but just being there for others throughout different situations which comes off more authentic.

Overall, I believe all alcohol companies should consider this route while making commercials, especially during this pandemic. While the beer might have initiated the gatherings, it is the natural conversations that truly bring the people together.
